If by and by,
or here and there,
we planted garden seeds
and tended to our garden soul
and pulled out all the weeds
If once or twice
we sat and watched
on our backs the stars as they moved,
and then inside our aching minds
the bad thoughts we removed
How would we see it differently,
How would our new hearts feel?
How could we help the new hearts,
How could in love new hearts we steal?
Would the world be so much kinder?
Would money no more be?
Would laughter be victorious?
Would all temptation flee?
The answer is a simple one,
For in order to change your view,
To change the world, all hearts, and minds,
You clearly must change You.
